GERMANY: German police say they stopped a driver who has wired his Ford Station wagon with an entire mobile office.  Saarland police said late last year that the 35 year old man was pulled over for doing 130 kph (80 mph) in a 100 kph zone while passing a truck.  Built on a wooden frame on his passenger seat they found a laptop on a docking station tilted for easy driver access, a printer, router, wireless internet stick, WLAN antenna, and an inverter to power it all.  A navigation system and cell phone mounted to the windshield completed the array. Since police had no evidence he used the office while driving, he got off with fine of what be about $153 U.S speeding ticket and a possible fine for having unsecured items in his car.

THIS IS SO BOGUS! MOST U.S. POLICE OFFICERS MOST OF THE SAME STUFF IN THEIR POLICE CRUISERS!

NEW YORK CITY: Here’s a story from the “young and clueless” file.  Police caught up with a 17 year old girl who allegedly used a stolen iPhone to photograph herself – after the photos automatically uploaded to the Facebook account of the smart phones owner, herself a teenage girl. Felicia Cooks allegedly punched the phone’s owner in the back of her head at a bus stop.  Cooks then demanded the girl’s property and fled. Cooks thought she had gotten away, but photos of her smiling and blowing kisses soon uploaded to the owner’s Facebook. Detectives used the photos to identify and arrest Cooks for robbery and possession of stolen property.
