ITALY: Here’s a story about a woman learning that she had tickets for illegally parking her car of 1,800 years! The woman learned of the tickets when she got a $44,500 bill.  The town was billing her for unpaid ticket dating back to 2008.  However, the clerk typed the year 208 into the computer, which charged her for parking fines dating back to the time of the Caesars in ancient Rome.

The Emperors of ancient Rome are in no position to fix the tickets!

 TURKEY: The headline in the Turkish paper read “Smugglers caught in police sting.” We learn that when the smuggler’s truck carrying contraband cigarettes, was stopped by police the smugglers let loose a swarm of bees.  This, of course, sent the police officers fleeing for their own safety.  The smugglers were arrested a short time later by police in beekeepers’ outfits.

BBBZZZZZ  BBBZZZZZZ….Caught in the sting indeed!

 CANADA: It has been reported that Canadian police are making an extreme effort to rid the streets of BB guns built to look like AK-47 assault rifles. The Royal Mounted

Aiken, SC: A lady in Aiken joked with a 10 year old on Halloween about stealing his trick or treat candy. The boy became so incensed that he pulled a gun on the lady. Fortunately, we learn the gun was not loaded.

 Des Moines, IA: A woman was so angry about being defriended on Facebook, she went to the ex-friend’s home an allegedly burned down her garage.  It appears that Jennifer C. Harris was angry that her target tried to organize a party for her on Facebook and no one wanted to come. Police report that the dispute escalated to defriending and then to arson.

The next step might have been death if an arrest hadn’t been made!

ENGLAND: Recently, a British man was arrested for using his laptop, sipping coffee and writing down the answers to a radio quiz. Unfortunately, he was driving while doing all of this.

So much for multitasking…

TENNESSEE: A man on trial for a robbery used his trial lunch break to commit another robbery.  We learn that Mark Burgin allegedly robbed a jewelry store of $45,000 in goods while he was on trial for robbing a truck driver at knife point. We learn further that second arrest did not affect his trial because the judge kept the jurors from hearing about it…at least, until after they found him guilty.

Some people just can’t help themselves from thieven’…

  MINNESOTA: A man was arrested for allegedly stealing Freon from a neighbor’s air conditioner and inhaling the refrigerant.

University City, MO: Police in this St. Louis suburb arrested Damon Perry after a homeowner returned to his house to find the 36 year old burglar frying bacon on the stove.  Perry is a suspect in a string of other burglaries in the neighborhood.

IRELAND: No more free wigs in Ireland! It has been reported that in a move to save money the Irish government says it will no longer pay for judges’ wigs.  Until now, each new judge has received a white dyed horsehair wig that cost taxpayers $3,000.

After 800 years of wig wearing judges why don’t they just junk the silly idea?
