Weird Criminal Law Stories 59

May 18th, 2009 by Leonard Birdsong

The weird criminal law stories never seem to end.  There are some really stupid criminals out there.  Read on.

Houston, TX : Maybe Matlock will represent him!  A man named Perry Mason was busted in Houston for illegally trying to steer clients to a lawyer for legal services.  Mason, who is not a lawyer, was charged with barratry — a fancy way of calling him an ambulance chaser.  Raymond Burr could not be reached for comment — as he died in 1993.

It’s  a shame Johnny Cochrane  is no longer with us.

Peoria, IL: A 13 year old boy got an early jump on a life of crime when he robbed a bank in Peoria.  Cops caught the boy red-handed — literally — several blocks away after a dye pack

Krystal Birdsong's Writings 12

Krystal Birdsong passed away in September 2008.  In honor of her memory Birdsong continues to post some of her writings on this blog.  Krystal had a great imagination and was an excellent writer.  Here is one about a dream she had  just before  her high school graduation. I wonder what it really means?

DREAM –  MAY 8, 2000

Lionnell and I (along w/some others) went for a drive in my mom’s car.  Lionnell drove. We got to the place (sort of like Montgomery Village shopping center) and got out & met up with a bunch of other people.  Pat (from Malcontent) showed up & was blabbering, then I patted his stomach.  Then Brad Petit shows up & suggests driving to New York cause it’s on the way home.

It was 11 o’clock@ night — I said we had to be home since my mom

Birdsong and his family still grieve the loss of our youngest daughter Krystal who passed away on September 20, 2008.  We have been going through her  effects, including her writings.  When Krystal graduated from high school she still lived in the Washington, D.C. area only joining us in Florida later.  We have found a couple of pieces in one of her “journals” that seem to describe a religious seminar she attended around the time of her high school graduation.  I certainly had never heard about it.  Perhaps, she made it up?

A Birdsong Thought for The Day

BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE THE MONEY IS.

These are the famous words of 1940′s bank robber and prison escapee, Willie Sutton, when asked why he robbed banks.

 … Think about it.
