The William Mitchell Law Review has just published Birdsong’s latest article, A legislative Rejoinder to “Give Me Your Gays, Your Lesbians, and Your Victims of Gender Violence, Yearning To Breathe Free of Sexual Persecution…” In his article explores the recent phenomenon of the United States in granting asylum claims to individuals who demonstrate that they have been persecuted in their home countries because of their sexual orientation. the article concludes with Birdsong providing model legislation that proposes five amendments to our immigration statute that will better provide justice for those seeking asylum on the grounds of sexual orientation.
