Weird Criminal Law Stories # 305:Old BoyTackle

WASHINGTON: An 82-year old man turned into a courageous crime fighter when he tackled a 27-year old burglary suspect who ran across his back yard. The elderly man, named Terry Miracle, clobbered the young bandit with a “cross body block” as police were in hot pursuit.

WE WISH THE OLD TIMER A MIRACULOUS RECOVERY AFTER THAT TACKLE.

NEW YORK: Long Island Dentist Robert Garelick, 57, was arrested earlier this year for operating on unsuspecting patients while he was under the influence of alcohol.  Dr. Garelick had bloodshot eyes when he injected Novocain on the wrong side of a patient’s mouth – while swilling vodka from a sports bottle then used a high speed drill to file down another man’s chipped tooth. It was his dental assistant who texted another employee that the dentist had been boozing on the job for months. That employee notified police.

HE SOUNDS MORE LIKE DR. DEMENTED – THAN DR. GARELICK!

NEW YORK: Syracuse police say Arthur Brundrage walked into a bank and demanded $20,000. The teller passed him some cash and he left. But then he counted the money and decided he had been short-changed, and returned for the rest.  Police were still on the scene and Brundrage was promptly identified and arrested.

        WHAT AN IDIOT!

NEW YORK: We learn that the worst deadbeat dad in the country – a Nassau County man who owes more than $1.2 million in child support – was arrested in Los Angeles after Philippine officials kicked him out of their country. Robert Sand, 50, was apprehended by U.S. Marshals just before Christmas 2012 after a decade on the run. The former car auctioneer fled to Florida and then to Thailand after divorcing his wife of ten years, Lisa Sand, in 1996, leaving her and his two children without the $750 weekly child support he was ordered to pay. Sand had fled Thailand for the Philippines, where officials arrested him for not having proper ID and deported him to the U.S. We understand that Sand might face a four year prison for nonpayment and flight.

IT WOULD HAVE BEEN CHEAPER TO KEEP HER!
