Weird Criminal Law 126

Queens, NY: A prominent gay activist was tackled and beaten at a Queens nightclub because he was dancing with a man, said police in December 2009. Tarlach MacNiallais, 47, who is a spokesman for the Irish Lesbian and Gay Organization, was punched and kicked and had a chair smashed over his head in the attack by two security guards at the Guadalajara De Noche restaurant. The bouncers allegedly said before the attack, “You can’t do that in here, this is not a gay bar.” The attack is being treated as a possible hate crime.

You think? The headline on this one read “Bouncers bop gay dancer.”

Washington State: A woman in Washington whose husband was leaving her got back at him by allegedly rewiring his power tools to deliver a powerful electric shock when he used them. She was arrested after he was knocked to the ground while using a 220-volt table saw.

Sounds shocking! Shocking I tell you.

Poland: What a whore! A Polish prostitute was hit with an $820,000 fine for unpaid taxes after years of being a “working girl.” The woman told the tax office she has very “generous” clients. She claimed one customer paid her nearly $2 million over a five year period.

She must be quite a performer….

Tennessee: People don’t know how to deal with snow in some places. A Tennessee man was arrested after allegedly pulling a shotgun on a neighbor who loudly stomped snow off his boots outside their apartment building. John Shepardson, 46, claimed the man had awakened him with his loud stomping. He was charged with aggravated assault.

Montreal, Canada: A man got 30 days in jail for fighting with a fellow passenger over elbow room on a Air Canada flight to Germany. When Khodar Ahmad, 31, got testy over space with his seatmate, the crew deemed him unruly and diverted the to Montreal, where he was booted from the flight.
