Gainseville, FL: An aspiring rapper in Gainseville has allegedly told police he robbed a convenience store and shot a clerk in the head with a BB gun in an effort to gain “street credibility” for his hip-hop career. Steven Gilmore, 21, also confessed to robbing a Hungry Howie’s restaurant as a career move, police said.

Sebastian, FL: A federal grand jury indicted a Florida woman for allegedly keeping her dead mother’s body in a bedroom for six years to collect more than $200,000 in pension benefits. Penelope Sharon Jordan was charged with Social Security fraud and could face up to 15 years in prison after police found the decaying body of her mother. The cops were originally called to the home to investigate a report of nuisance cats.

St. Lucie, FL: Going hog wild can get you in trouble. A St. Lucie man celebrated his son’s release from prison by taking him on an illegal wild-hog hunt — getting them both arrested and his offspring thrown back in jail. Police had spotted the defiant duo wandering around in a grove with rifles. No wild-hogs were harmed!

Florida: Corrections officers at three prisons in Florida were reprimanded for demonstrating on youngsters how a stun gun works at “Take Your Kids to Work Day.” The shocked officers said they simply wanted to show the children — ages 8 to 14 — the equipment used to control diobedient inmates.
I would say this was “stunningly” poor judgment….
